∙ 13y agoThere were many important dates. The most important are really up to the people that were there at the time. We can only speculate . I would say that three important dates were July 4th, 1776. That is when we declared our Independence from the British. April 9, 1865 was the date that the civil war ended. Dec. 7, 1941 was the date of the surprise attack by the Japanese on the USA naval base in pearl harbor Hawaii that forced the USA. into World War 2

∙ 8y agoIt is difficult to measure "important" events, since different people may weigh certain events with different criteria. Events before the advent of writing are prehistory. It does seem like the timeline of new inventions is becoming closer together.

The rise of America to super power status at the conclusion of World War Two is the second of the three most important events in American history.
The third most important event in American history is currently in progress: it is the overpopulation crisis that is affecting all resources around the world thereby increasing the price of everything, and the security and cultural dangers of religions, such as Islam, and the violence that they spread around the world and which threatens to overwhelm the civilized world should it not be halted early enough.

-The revolutionary war created America, so it could be argued as the most important.
-WWI/II and the Coldwar also shaped America greatly, turning it from an isolationist Merchant nation into a Global Superpower
