It means he is quite healthy. However he need to keep repeating his CD4 once in 3 months and viral load once in an year. For more details, contact freedom.helpline@gmail.com
Yes. Using a condom will protect you from catching HIV. If you do not use a condom, then the risk of catching HIV will depend on the HIV-positive partners viral load. The higher the viral load the higher the risk. Even with an undetectable viral load, HIV can still be transmitted.
viral load
Hepatitis; HIV viral load
3 days
You can be treated to the point where the viral load is undetectable, but the antibodies will always remain and the HIV screening test will remain positive.
HIV is a viral infection.
A viral load of 90,000 or higher is fairly high, however, HIV does not cause any symptoms of its own. HIV lowers the immune response, causing you to be more susceptible to other diseases.
It is a Virus, infact the V in HIV stands for Virus
From the research that has been done, Viral Load has a direct correlation to risk of transmission. Since true Elite Controllers do not have any detectable viral load, they are not at risk of transmission. Additionally, since Elite Controllers are able to naturally kill the HIV Virus, if they are re-exposed, their natural immune system is able to fight off the virus. Whereas, if an HIV Negative person, who is not an Elite Controller, is exposed post HIV-Testing, that person would have a very high viral load, most likely not know it, and would be very contagious. Hence, the irony is that an HIV+ Elite Controller (HIV+ for antibodies) is probably one of the safest persons to have sex with vs. an HIV- person, who may actually be HIV+ and not know it AND be very contagious.
Nope. Not unless you have a fresh open cut there. Also the risk is much lower if that person is on treatment and their viral load is low.
No it isn't; it is a viral infection.
Some people with HIV have a purulent infections. Most purulent infections happen in patients without HIV.
