15 to start the classes you need then by 16 you get ur permitt i believe the u take the test by 18 it turns to a normal liscense

      • Normally 16 if you have completed a driver education course and in school or have graduated or a GED, else you must be 18; however, there is provision for a hardship license at age 15 provided that: (1) the failure to issue the license will result in an

        unusual economic hardship for the family of the applicant;

        (2) the license is necessary because of the illness of

        a member of the applicant's family; or

        (3) the license is necessary because the applicant is

        enrolled in a vocational education program and requires a driver's

        license to participate in the program.

No. The new law is you can start the classes at 14. You can get a instruction permit at 15, which means you can drive only if there is an adult over 21 in the front seat with you. In order to get your license, you have to have the permit for a minimum of 6 months, and be 16.

In Texas, you can start the graduated licensing program at 15. You'll need to hold your permit for at least 6 months and complete Driver's Ed before you can earn your driver's license.
