I think it's because either they were genetically modified to not be able to see color,
or they were raised so much just to obey and be boring people that they just lost that
ability.
In "The Giver," a world without color would lack vibrancy and the emotional depth that colors bring. Without color, people's experiences would be dull and devoid of the richness that color adds to life. The lack of color would also likely impact people's ability to express themselves and feel connected to their surroundings.
Colors are a way to show diversity. If colors existed in that society, then it would show difference between everyone. Also, they would have an opinion on what their favorite color is. Plus, the author probably wanted a more dystopian feel to the setting.
Hope this answers your question!
Jonas society is a utopia (place) where everything is done for you, theres no pain, fear, love,or color everything is black and white
Nothing would ever be green. The color would not exist.
The Giver's plan is to teach Jonas about the true history and memories of the community in order to pass on the burden of those memories to Jonas and ultimately guide him to bring about change and restore emotion and color back to their world.
it depends if you have dark eyes or light eyes. Jonah has light eyes and so does the giver, therefore they can see colour.
It would be a very sad and depressing place, colours make the world wonderful. A peach and an apple would be almost identical if there is no colour . The world would be just a boring place to live without colour so be grateful that the world is full with colours.
i would be a giver because i would have a lot of honor. also i would have a lot of memories
As an absolute form and giver of life, as without the Nile there would be only desert.
The Giver (old Receiver of Memory) felt that the community had made a number of mistakes. He demonstrates this by helping Jonas escape, knowing that he would be taking the memories with him, and that with his death and not having given the memories to anyone else, they would return to the community.
The elders in "The Giver" would most likely react negatively to the words "choice," "color," and "ordinary" as they strive to maintain control, uniformity, and sameness in their society. These words represent concepts that challenge their structured way of life and could disrupt the harmony they have established.
The world would suck without skate boarding because without it what would be fun?
He would be receiving his training apart from other people, and be trained privately in the Giver's home.
The Giver would announce to the community that Jonas has left to help them understand the truth and experience their memories. He might explain that Jonas is on a journey to bring back love, pain, and color to their colorless society through his memories.
Green or blue.
