From Adam to the Flood. The Bible gives evidence of the existence of lists of family relationships from man's beginning. At the birth of Adam's son Seth, Eve said: "God has appointed another seed in place of Abel, because Cain killed him." (Ge 4:25) Representatives of the line begun by Seth survived the Flood. (Ge 5:3-29, 32; 8:18; 1Pe 3:19, 20)
Cain's descendants are listed in part and include men who distinguished themselves in nomadic stock raising, the playing of Musical Instruments, and the forging of metal tools as well as those who were known for their practice of polygamy and their violence. (Gen. 4:17-24) Cain's line ended with the global Flood of Noah's day.
The relevant genealogy of Adam is in Genesis chapter 5. Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) regards Genesis chapter 5 as a third and wholly new creation story, distinct in content and form both from the cosmological account of Genesis 1 and from the paradigmatic story of the prototypical human beings, Adam and Eve and sons (Genesis 2:4-4:26).
In other words, this genealogy comes from a separate tradition that did not involve Cain and Abel. The earlier tradition concludes in Genesis chapter 4 with the descendants of Cain.
Cain was not in the blood line of Jesus. Cain and Abel were sons of Adam and Eve. Cain killed Abel and Cain went to the land of Nod. Adam and Eve had another son by the name of Seth (Genesis 4:25-26.) You will find Seth in the genealogy found in Luke 3:23-38).
Enoch (from Cain), Enosh (from Seth), and many, many others not mentioned were the grandchildren of Adam and Eve.
Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, and Enoch.
Seth. Adam and Eve's third son after Cain and Abel.
Cain was the first person mentioned in the bible besides Adam and Eve. "...she conceived and bore a son Cain" (Genesis 4:1)
Yes. Since Eve mentioned it (Genesis 4:25), Adam certainly also knew.
The Bible only mentions Seth because it was through Seth's line that Christ would come.
adam is cain's father
No they had other children beside those mentioned, Cain married his own sister.
Only three names are mentioned in the bible all boys. They were Cain, Abel and Seth.
Yes they had other daughters and sons beside Abel and Cain. But the names of the daughters are not mentioned.
There are a couple different genealogies given for the descendants of Cain. These appear in Genesis (4:16-23; 5:21-29). One reason for this may be that those recording the genealogy did not want to have heros such as Enoch and Noah to be known descendants of the first murder, Cain; so they instead made them descendants of Cain's brother, Seth (Adam and Eve's third son). The most reliable genealogy seems to go: Adam Cain Enoch Irad Mehujael Methusael Lamech Noah There are a couple different genealogies given for the descendants of Cain. The most reliable genealogy seems to go: Adam Cain Enoch Irad Mehujael Methusael Lamech Noah The above seems to be incorrect, according to Genesis 5:17-29 the Enoch and Lamech, descendants of Seth were different from the Enoch and Lamech descendants of Cain.
The only 3 names mentioned in the Bible are Cain, Abel, and Seth. Adam also had "other sons and daughters," though they aren't named.
According to the Bible, the third MENTIONED person to be born was Seth, son of Adam and Eve. The third person mentioned in the Bible was Cain, Adam and Eve's first-born son. Adam and Eve also had other children in between the ones mentioned so we really don't know who was actually the third.
Abel was murdered by his brother Cain. Cain and Abel were the sons of Adam and Eve so Abel was the first person on earth that died. EDIT: While it may be true that Able is the first person on earth to die, it could be possible that someone who is not mentioned in the bible died before Able did. Who knows.
There is no specific daughter mentioned as Lucifiers (Satan's), all of the prodigy of Satan (The serpent in the garden - Revelation 12:9), is given in his son with Eve which is Cain. The genealogy of Cain is given in Genesis 4:16 - 24. Cain is not given in the genealogy of Adam (Genesis 5). Cain and his genealogy are mentioned and identified by Christ in James chapter 8:44. Cain's genealogy are known as the Kenite's. in biblical text.Lucifer, aka ha Satan, is a spiritual angel and as such cannot have offspring. The gift of reproduction has been given to physical mankind and not the angels in the spirit world. After the Millennial Rule when mankind is changed into spiritual children of God, we will no longer be able to reproduce - a gift from God for human sharing only:Mark 12:25New King James Version (NKJV)25 For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
Cain and Abel were the first two sons. But they also had other daughters and sons that aren't mentioned by name.
No, Abel was a herder of livestock. Cain was a tiller of the ground and if there was a vineyard in Adam's family it would have been Cain's. However the first Husbandman mentioned in the bible was Noah.
Gen:5:4: And the days of Adam ..........: and he begat sons and daughters: (margin) Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters that are not mentioned by name.Seth(and Cain for that matter)married their sisters.
Cain and Abel are the only two that were mentioned at that time, but they could have literally had hundreds of sibling. In the genealogy of Adam in ch. 5 of Genesis only Seth is mentioned, and Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born, and Adam is said to have lived another 800 year after that and it says he begot sons and daughters. We only know about Cain and Abel because of the story in ch. 4 and no other names are mentioned. I personally think that Cain was a head of a clan at the time he killed Abel and went into an exile. In ch.4:17 it is said that Cain had a son named Enoch and he built a city and named the city Enoch after his son (firstborn in exile I assume). One thing you need to remember, is that back in those day people lived close to a millennium and where generally very healthy, so there would have been a population explosion in the first few hundred years.
Cain and Abel were the only two sons of Adam and Eve in the Bible. Cain killed his brother Abel and was forced to wander the earth.ANOTHER ANSWER:The "third son" of Adam recorded in the Bible was "SETH." But Adam's genealogy doesn't detail an exact number of Cain and Abel's MANY OTHER BROTHERS:"When Adam was 130 years old, his son Seth was born, and Seth was the very image of his father. After the birth of Seth, Adam lived another 800 years, and HE HAD OTHER SONS AND DAUGHTERS." (Gen.5:3-4 NLT New Living Translation)The only question that remains is: "How many children [sons and daughters; brothers and sisters of Cain and Abel] is it possible for a man have in the course of 800 years?"
Adam was Cain's father in all respects.
Adam was the father of Cain and Abel.
It's not known who was first born. However, Cain, son of Adam and Eve, is the first person mentioned who was born.
Cain is the son of Adam and Eve in the Holy Bible. Cain and his wife had a son and his name was Enoch. The bible records years of lineage from Adam and Eve and that includes Cain.
