A sentence is in its natural order if the subject comes first before the predicate.

Note : Another kind of order is the Transposed / Inverted order of sentences.

It is inverted if the predicate comes first before the subject.

example of natural : The man sleeps under the tree.

example of inverted : Under the tree, the man sleeps.

I hope that this information could help you out. Good luck on whatever you are doing. :)

Word order in English is variable depending upon subtle differences in meaning. In simple declarative sentences and clauses, the "normal" word order in English is subject, verb, object/predicate: I see her. In the case of multiple objects, the indirect object with a preposition normally comes last: I give the book to her, she made an apple pie for me. But personal pronouns as indirect objects without a preposition always precede the direct object: I gave her the book, she made me a pie.

For emphasis and in verse, however, inverted word order is common. Notice how the perceived meaning changes subtly in the following, although the grammatical meaning is identical: I gave the book to her; To her I gave the book; The book I gave to her.

Questions in normal speech involve the inverted auxiliary "do" plus the infinitive or "be" plus the participle: Does she speak English? Are you asking me? Did I forget anything? Was I saying something? The verb "have" may take an auxiliary or be inverted. We may say Have you any wool? and Do you have any wool?

With compound verbs like "fill up" or "take down," the object most properly goes between the verb and its adverb: Fill her up, take that painting down. But not always. We may say Fill up my tank or Take down that painting, depending again on subtle differences in meaning or emphasis.
