I personally love Amir Khan, with his careful, meditative development of the raga, but there have been some other great vocalists also, such as Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, D. V. Paluskar, Kumar Gandharva (yes, a great musician despite his vocal limitations), Bhimsen Joshi, Mallikarjun Mansur, Faiyaz Khan, Abdul Karim Khan, the Dagar brothers, and Nazakat-Salamat Ali Khan. There is no such thing as an absolute "best" in music, since music is very subjective. Which musician you consider to be the best depends on things like what blend of swara and laya you like, or whether you like a long vilambit raga development.
