Opinions of contributors:
The short answer is that it depends on the test and that even then a high IQ score (whether it be 130 or 148) demonstrates high intelligence, but does not prove genius. IQ tests given to children are ranked depending on the age of the child at the time the test is taken, which makes the tests less reliable than those based on an adult scale. The term genius is subjective and people are not normally considered geniuses based on a standardized test score alone. However, that would be a very smart 7 year old.
Many people do not understand that IQ measurement is based on percentiles and standard deviations and not on the actual score. For example, a score of 140 on the Wechsler would be exceedingly rare (roughly 1 in 350+), while a score on the Cattell Culture Fair (an equally valid scale) would be less rare (roughly 1 in 20). The highly gifted range is usually considered to be two standard deviations above the norm.
Opinion:
Geniuses and prodigies are actually the people who are considered to be above the two standard deviation ceiling.
While it is exceedingly high - it is not technically 'genius', which is higher than 140.
Care should be taken to properly encourage - without pressuring - the child's development.
Sometimes a child, particularly one that young, gets a high level once and then in later tests shows lower levels. This can just be a one-off blip.
Yes. However, IQ is not dependent on age. She will probably have about the same IQ when she is 17, 27, or 57 as she does now.
Average IQ is theoretically 100, for all ages and both sexes.
Young genius' will tend to have little weird quirks. For example as a child regular puzzles bored me because they were too easy so I started doing puzzles pictures side down to make them more challenging for myself. Other than the odd quirks a genius child won't act much differently than a normal child.
If you really have an IQ of 159, that is considered genius. -An IQ of above 130 is considered Mensa level - Stephen Hawking's IQ was estimated at 160 -Einstein's IQ was estimated between 160 and 180. HOWEVER If the test you took was not administered by a professional, it is probable that your result was innacurate.
It means get that child to a doctor/psychiatrist ASAP!
It's more than a two year old's! Trust me!
Opinions from contributors:Unlike IQ tests for adults (over the age of 16), IQ tests given to children (such as the Otis-Lennon) are contingent upon the age that the child was tested. Tests taken before the age of 16 are not reliable for this reason. It is NOT the numerical score of the IQ test that indicates that a person may have superior intelligence. It is the percentile or the standard deviation. 2 standard deviations above the norm (above the 98th percentile), is usually what is considered highly superior intelligence. The term "genius" is subjective.OpinionThere is so such thing as 'genius' IQ. Genius is intelligence plus training. 130 is considered a very intelligent IQ at any age.
Anything over 140 is considered genius. That is the 98th percentile.
Well i know there was a 3 year old with a IQ of 170 but she was a child genius i would say 69 is about average.
Well, I'm an 11 year old girl and my score was also 105. 100 is the average so you about average. You would have to be 130 or more to be considered above average or genius.
No need to live vicariously through the genius of your own child you sonnuvabitch!!
* Newborn - 130 * Older Child - 100 * Adult 60 - 101

Cameron Thompson, 13 year old maths genius
I am a 15 year old girl and my IQ is 150.I am a 12 year old girl and mine is 127I am a 11 year old girl and I have an IQ of 128There have been no studies about this topic but a gifted child at least has an IQ of 130.
115-130 115-130
it really depends on the height of the girl, but no a thirteen year old girl should not weigh 130 pounds.
Hunter Robertson the genius 12 year old
Yes, an 11 year old is a child.
