It is inappropriate for 14 year olds to be engaging in serious kissing or other sexual activity. So yes, 14 is a little young to be dating practically. Dating should be a process to find a lifetime mate and I don't think most 14 year olds are ready for anything that serious. So why would you want a 14 year old to go through an unnecessary heartbrake because at they age they probably wont marry the person they are going to "date" anyway.
