Typically AMD processors are known to run much cooler than Intel processors. The reason for this is based on the processing architecture of the processor. AMD processors are typically much more efficient with respect to performance per watt than Intel processors, and therefore typically are much cooler.
At this point in time, Intel processors are much faster overall than AMD processors, so it's a moot point. In the past, AMD processors were much more efficient than their Intel counterparts, because the Intel chips were designed to capitalize on one thing: clock speed. The architecture Intel was using at the time, NetBurst, was vastly inefficient. To achieve speeds comparable to that of AMDs chips, Intel's had to be clocked up to 1 GHz higher. This wasn't so bad for Intel, since at the time, everyone had though that a higher clock speed meant higher performance.
Before I answer I will tell you right now that I am a bit on an intel fanboy.
Look at it this way, AMD is like a Ford or Chevrolet car, It is fuel efficient and will get you where you need to go at a reasonable price. The Intel processors are like a Lexus or Audi, but can get as good as an Italian sports car. They are faster, well designed, and have better components that last longer. The downside is they use a bit more power and cost a little more to get where you want quicker.
An average AMD processor will cost about $30-$50 less than an intel processor
AMD processors are more energy efficient.
If you are getting a laptop that has one of AMD's APUs ( advanced processing units ) you are also getting a high quality graphics card built right into your processor! This eliminates the need for a discreet ( seperate ) graphics card in your system, allowing you to draw even less energy. Intel processors have integrated graphics cards that eliminate the need for a separate graphics card as well and they are more powerful than AMD's APU. Yes, they are not as energy efficient, but realistically energy is cheap. It costs around $0.00112 per Kilowatt hour. If you are not comfortable with paying $2 - $5 extra a month for up to 2x or 5x graphics speeds then AMD is the right choice for you.
If you have extra money to burn, Intel processors will give you a barely-noticeable performance increase over equivalent AMD processors. In most cases, though, the AMD equivalent is 50-75% cheaper than the Intel version, and offers reasonably equivalent performance.
BUT on the Technical side of things, intel gives much better core management. BUT if your looking for a laptop, and it says AMD on it, ignore it. I will say that AMD makes GREAT budget processors for desktop, but AMD`s laptop game is horrible. an old intel i7 2620M is better than a newer AMD laptop processor and the latter cost a lot more. so for a laptop, no, Intel is much, much better. For desktop, and you don't have extra cash to burn, AMD is better.
Intel tends to make better processors than AMD.
In many ways the AMD processor is considered to be significantly better than the Intel. Intel is attempting to improve their image by adding new features, and AMD is doing much the same.
The two major manufacturers of processors are Intel and AMD
Not really a better value but more efficient for use,it has better speeds.
Well, Intel is the better brand, but AMD is a fairly good. If your looking for a gaming laptop and have some money to spend, Look into the Intel Core i3,i5, and i7, these are the fastest Intel processors. On the other hand, the AMD Phenom 2 quad Black edition is the fastest AMD processor and is around as fast as an Intel Core 2 Duo. Hope this helps.
Celeron for Intel and Sempron for AMD
they are both good in terms of performance but if we compare their price AMD is cheaper than intel, so for me i'll go for AMD...
It depends, but usually Intel is better. Older AMD processors (compared against the early Pentium 4) were much faster, however.

Whether Intel or AMD processors are better for desktop computers depends on your individual needs and preferences. Intel processors are generally considered to be better for gaming and other demanding applications. They tend to have higher clock speeds and more cores than AMD processors. This makes them better at handling multiple tasks at the same time. AMD processors are generally considered to be better for budget-minded users and for tasks that are not as demanding, such as web browsing and office work. They tend to be more affordable than Intel processors and they offer better value for money. If you are a gamer or a creative professional who needs a high-performance processor, then an Intel processor is the better choice. However, if you are on a budget or if you do not need a processor for demanding applications, then an AMD processor is a good option. Ultimately, the best way to decide which processor is right for you is to consider your individual needs and preferences.
Obviously different companies, but besides that AMD processors mu go in motherboard that use an AMD socket and Intel processors must go into an Intel based socket. Intel processors seem to be a bit more expensive but Intel is on top with the newest technology. Many AMD "fans" would argue this.
Intel CPU processors have a very stable price, they don't differ a lot from the CPU processors of AMD but AMD has more discount offers on it's CPU processors which in some occassions give them a better cost to performance ratio. In other words, buying an AMD processor with a good discount might just beat the Intel CPU processor cost to performance ratio.
