Afganistan is a poor country, burdened with religious bigotry. Industry is almost non existant and the peoples are to toil hard for agriculture in hilly terrains. The GDP, per capita income are very poor. Of late, India and China have come forward for its economic development. However, the talibans make it well nigh impossible to undertake developmental works there.
