Some scholars think that Isaiah held a high rank in Jerusalem possibly being the head and chief of the prophetic order, basically holding the same rank as Elisha had held in the prophetic schools in Israel. Hezekiah (Uzziah) held Isaiah in high regard.

Amos was a humble 'sheep raiser' and 'nipper of figs'(Amos 1:1/Amos 7:14) who was called by God to become a prophet to the idolatrous 10 tribe Kingdom of Israel(Amos 7:15)with it's calf worship, around 829-804 BCE. The entire book of Amos is composed of prophecies about God's execution of judgement against faithless Israel (Amos 3:1-Amos 6:14/Amos 7:1-8:14), as well as Judah and pagan nations at the time(Amos 1:1-2:16), but also held out the promise of a restoration for all those faithful to YHWH (the God of the Bible)(Amos 9:1-15).
