Is Ativan Stronger than Valium?
No, i take ativan .5 and can not feel much of a difference after a few weeks. it does take the edge off fo anxiety some what , but ive taken Valium v cuts and roche 10 for the fun of it when i was younger. There not it the same league. in my case ativan isn't enough for me reason im on here looking for something stronger but for anxiety you cant beat 2mg zanax or even lower dose of the blues. im sure it has to do with tolerance but hope you found this helpfull.
Ativan is in the same family as Valium. They are both Benzodiazepines. Ativan is about 10 times stronger in terms of DOSE than Valium. They are two different chemicals but have similar effects. Some make you sleepier, and some work more at anxiety. I think Ativan is better than Valium at reducing anxiety but Valium makes you sleepier. But they are both similar so you probably won't notice the difference.
Ativan can be stronger than Xanax. However, it depends on the milligram dosage. Both Ativan and Xanax are anti-anxiety prescription medications.
It it possible to take Valium (diazepam) and Ativan (lorazepam) at the same time however it is uncommon for both to be prescribed. However some doctors will prescribe Valium for continuous use, typically three times daily, and may give some Ativan to take as needed or panic attacks or insomnia. Keep in mind that Valium is a far less more potent drug than Ativan, 0.5- 1 mg is equivalent to 10 mg of Valium.
what is the difference between valium and atvin
Clonazepam is 20 times stronger than Valium. Both are benzodiazepines which are extremely addictive and lead to dependence in as little as 10 doses of each.
You can give Diazepam (Valium) next day after you give Lorazepam (Ativan). Lorazepam is short acting and diazepam is long acting.
No, Valium and Ativan are different medications with different active ingredients. Valium is a trade name (brand name) for the drug "diazepam" and Ativan is a trade name for the drug "lorazepam." However, both diazepam (Valium) and lorazepam (Ativan) belong to the same class of sedative hypnotic prescription medications known as benzodiazepines. Accordingly, diazepam and lorazepam have similar chemical/molecular structures and share many of the same therapeutic properties.
10mg is stronger
Valium (Diazepam) and Ativan (Lorazepam) are both benzodiazepine drugs. They are similar, but not the same.
Rohypnol is MUCH MUCH STRONGER than Valium. I say much twice..because for once it is stronger than Xanax & VALIUM. It contains 10 mgs of Valium, which would equal about .5 mgs of Xanax, this meaning that Xanax (Alprazolam) is a more potent drug than Valium (Diazapam)! Xanax is also a much quicker acting drug than Valium & also stronger. One blue 10mg Valium equals to 0.50mg of Xanax. That is how strong Xanax is… Read More
No they can not have any drugs Miyabi Armstrong Fraser Acutally, Valium is commonly used on dogs in vet offices. Ativan is in the same class of drugs (although used within a fairly different scope than Valium). I don't know if it can be used on dogs. Best to ask a veterinarian!! Yes, Ativan can be given to dogs but needs to be given under a vets supervision.
No: lorazepam is marketed as Ativan, Valium is a brand name for diazepam. Both are benzos though
Why is Valium often perceived by doctors in a more negative manner than the more potentfaster-acting and potentially more habit-forming benzos Xanax Klonopin Ativan etc?
I wouldn't say that Xanax, Klonopin, or Ativan are more habit-forming than Valium. Valium is just as addictive and potent as those three, if not more potent and addictive. I have been prescribed all 4 at some time or another to help with my sleep disorder, and I would say that the Valium lasted longer and had a greater sedating effect than the other 3, even when comparing a relatively small dosage of Valium to… Read More
Somewhere around 1-3mg's. Ativan comes in .5,1,and 2mg tablets. Ativan is a benzo very similar to klonopin, xanax, and valium.
Some are Valium, Ativan, and Versed.
Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, Ativan
Yes, they are both benzodiazepines.
Yes, Ativan (lorazepam) is in fact a benzodiazepine. It falls under the short/intermediate acting benzodiazepines, meaning that it enters and exits your body more quickly than say Valium (diazepam) which is a long acting benzodiazepine.
NO, it is anti anxiety, like Valium and ativan, and it makes you drowsy
1mg Xanax = 2mg Ativan or 20mg Valium. You also have to consider onset and duration of action. Xanax is very fast-acting but only has a half-life of 6-12 hours. Ativan has a relatively quick onset with a half-life of 10-20 hours. Valium on the other hand, is a slow-acting benzo and stays in your system for days.
1. alprazolam(Xanax) is way more powerful, ativan isn't even is potent as Valium trust me Xanax is the way to go either that or klonopin but I prefer Xanax 2. I've tried both. I currently have access to both. Ativan hits harder and produces a more euphoric feel for me. The only problem is it only last about 20 - 30 min tops. Xanax just makes me fall asleep. I also am always off balance… Read More
Both belong to class the class of "super-potent" benzodiazepines. Technically, Klonopin is more potent than Ativan (0.25mg-0.5mg klonopin = 1mg ativan), but if you are wondering which produces more euphoria, most would agree Ativan beats Klonopin. My psychiatrist recently swapped me from klonopin to ativan for my social anxiety, and I find ativan works faster and produces a much more calming effect than the klonopin did.
Which do you think is stronger, the one with more drug in it (10mg), or the one with less drug in it (5mg)?
If you have 10mg Valium for a dental appointment but you need 15mg can you add 1mg Ativan and get the same basic effect?
Most benzodiazepine equivalency charts show 10mg Valium = 1mg Ativan so it should work, HOWEVER, be cautious when subsitituting or combining benzos as effects are VERY relative to each person. Paradoxical reactions can occur in one benzo and not another. For example, My cousin can't take Valium- it makes her hyper and irritable, but 0.5mg Ativan knocks her out.
Xanax (alprazolam) is more potent than Ativan (lorazepam). Typically 0.5 mg of Xanax is equal to 1 mg of Ativan. However this does vary from person to person. Xanax also works faster and lasts a shorter period than Ativan. So it is logical to say that Xanax is more "powerful" because of its potency and rapid action.
are you freakin serious? read your own question you dumsh1T
No. 5 panel tests for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, opiates, and cocaine. Valium is considered a benzo and is a completely differenters class than opiates. Valium is in same class as xanax and ativan. Hope that helps. More panel tests will reveal the benzos though.
ativan and valium are both benzodiazepines. basic drug screens will test for this drug category. however, not all drug screens are the same. some will only test for opiates in which case the two drugs in question will not show up.
Highly not recommended but it is not fatal.
Yes, but only if they are checking for benzodiazapines like(xanax, valium, ativan)
Valium = diazepam Ativan = lorazepam Xanax = alprazolam Klonopin = clonazepam
No. Vicodin is a painkiller opiate. Benzodiazepines are sedatives such as xanax, clonoipin, valium, ativan and so on.
Benzodiazapines Valium (diazapam) Xanax (alprazolam) Ativan (Lorazapam) Klonopin (Clonazapam)
For what condition or disorder would a doctor prescribe both Valium AND ativan?
Valium xanax klonaphin ativan any benzo
Valium (diazepam) and Ativan (lorazepam) will not show up as the same drug. Valium undergoes extensive hepatic (liver) metabolism by CYP2C19, a component of an enzyme system. When it becomes metabolized several active metabolites form, primarily desmethyldiazepam (Nordazepam), oxazepam, and temazepam. These active metabolites are also benzodiazepine class drugs. Nordazepam is available in some countries, Oxazepam is best known as Serax and Serepax, and temazepam is a commonly used hypnotic best known as Restoril. 98.5%… Read More
We know nothing of your medical history. Ask your doctor.
yes, Ativan is the only benzo that won't get stronger from tagamet. So, you don't to worry.
What is stronger a 1 milligram ativan or a 1 milligram xanax
Valium has a elimination half-life of 20-100 hours whereas Xanax's is 6-12 hours and Ativan's half life is10-20 hours.
Yes, Rohypnol is a benzo ( valium, ativan, xanax) and is also illegal in the unites states
Status epilepticus requires emergency treatment, usually with Valium (Ativan), Dilantin, or Barbita.
Xanax is the stronger medication as opposed to Valium. 0.5mg of Xanax is equal to 5mg of Valium. I got this information a while back from WebMD because I take 1mg 4 times daily of Xanax and had wondered the same thing.
Benzodiazapines: Xanax,Valium,Klonopin,Ativan,Restoril,Halcion-That should be enough-they are the most commonly prescribed.
NO. They are not chemically related and have entirely different effects. Ativan is the brand name for lorazepam, a tranquilizer closely related to Valium. Darvocet is a combination of the synthetic analgesic propoxyphene and Tylenol.
Medications such as Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, and Ativan, will show up as benzopdiazepines on a drug screen.
Alcohol. Opiates like morphine or codeine or heroine. Cannibis (Pot), Benzo's (Valium, ativan, etc), and some solvents.
They typically do because they are both benzos but some tests can tell the difference. Usually you are good though.
Morphine is a very strong opiate (painkiller), while Valium is a benzodiazepam (sedative). They are in two completely different classes of drugs, however they cause similar experiences. Morphine will definitely produce a stronger, more intense high than Valium. Morphine will essentially make you feel incredibly euphoric and contented with an accompanying strong body high. Although diazepam modulates the dopamine system in a way similar to morphine, its effects are certainly not as powerful.
Xanax (alprazolam) Klonopin (clonazepam) Valium (diazepam) Ativan (lorazepam) Serax (oxazepam) Librium (chlordiazepoxide) BuSpar (buspirone)
