No, it is a former member of the Eastern Bloc- it's standards of living and infrastructure are not of the same high standard as those of the West, but it's still classed as a 'developed' nation and is by no means Third World.

∙ 12y agoIn some ways it is yes, when you consider that Croatia and Serbia were also involved in the break up war of Yugoslavia in 1991, those two countries are in far better state cosmetically than Bosnia and Herzegovina. But financially all of former Yugoslavia is a bit of a mess with a high amounts of unemployment and an economy that is struggling, more and more people from former Yugoslavia are moving away to seek a better lifestyle. But in saying that the world as a whole is struggling with the in/out recession, more specifically Eastern Europe as it doesn't have the same amount of resources as western European countries have to bring it up to meet the standard. But on a whole all of former Yugoslavia is however one of the most beautiful places in the world and you should visit them one day.
