I agree - No. He just doesn't want to attend training camp. But more importantly, he wants to be fresh at the end of the year when it really counts. After all, everyone has been talking extensively about how he starts-off great but goes bad the last few games. He will be on the Vikings no later than week 8. That's the big one at Green Bay. We knew this (staying retired) was coming when Favre said, "I know the Vikings' offense so well I could teach it" just days before training camp started. Talk about sending out a signal. But he didn't say he was retiring permanently! He said, "I'm staying retired...but if someone calls on Nov. 1 (week 8), I'll listen...". How's that for a signal! I can't believe no one else is picking up on this; it's so obvious. i say he will retire when he wants it does not matter he is awesome and awesome people can do what ever they want so there.

I am not sure how this is to be stated. Brett Favre will retire from the NFL not a team. However since his current team is the Minnesota Vikings and if he retired today he would then retire from the NFL as a Minnesota Viking.

Now just because he is playing for the Vikings does not mean that everything he did in Green Bay is for nothing. His number, I would think if the NFL would do such a thing, the #4 would get retired NFL wide just like the #23 in the NBA.

If this is what you are worried about with the retiring of his number and such in Green Bay, that is up to the Packers to do so. If he also was able to finish this current season with the Vikings and bring them a Super Bowl win the Vikings could also retired his number so that the #4 could never be worn by another Viking.

However if Brett Favre retires for his final time he would retired from the NFL and not a team in general.

All my friends hate Brett Favre and what they dont get is he is 40 years old and is still throwing like he was 20!

No Way!!!He was this close to a superbowl he was so close to going. He knows now that he is good enough to make it and he will stay to make one more run at the superbowl.

Right now Favre returning is highly unlikely because training camp started and the first preseason game is coming in a little over a week. So the chances of Favre returning is very scarce.

Will Brett Favre be cut?

No. As of February 2010, Rick Spielman (chief coordinator, Minnesota Vikings) says he want Brett Favre back another year. In addition, Brad Childress, the head coach of the Vikings team, is letting Brett Favre take his time regarding his future career: he will not give Brett Favre a deadline. Now, of course, its up to Brett Favre whether he continues his record-setting consecutive start streak by playing another year. Although he recently told ESPN he highly doubts his return, Favre has already "retired" twice in a row, so he may continue even if he says he has quit.

The main reason is that he was no longer wanted, he was indecisive on whether he wanted to retire or not. The Packers decided to trade him because he wanted to play and they did not want him to play with them anymore.

Why is Brett Favre a great football player?

A guy like Brett Favre is the key kind of quarterback for football. I mean, the crowd goes nuts when he gets a touchdown pass, you know? BOOM! Tocuhdown! What I'm saying here is that when you see this guy play football, you sorta get this feeling that you just want to get up and dance etc. Brett Favre is a MVP Quarterback, its believed that he will retire a Vikings in 2010 after his 20th NFL season (1 with NYG, 16 with Green Bay, 1 with NYJ, and 2 with Minnesota)
