I say Bible believing Christians are right.
Catholics put the traditions of "the Church" before The Bible. Catholics believe Jesus' death made it possible for people to get to heaven by good works - this is not what the Bible says.
Catholics are Christians. Catholicism is a type of Christianity.
No one knows if they are right or wrong. Though, many might hope that they are wrong because of their harsh teachings! You're going to have to wait until you die to find out!
Of course, Christianity could be wrong altogether!
Actually, Catholic and Christian are the same thing, so the obvious answer is, of course it is right. The only way your question would make sense is if you were defining Christian as something other than Catholic, and then, of course, the answer would make no sense, as the question would make no sense. People who use the word "Christian" to mean something other than Catholic do not know history or are trying to rewrite it.
Around 75% of the worldwide followers of Jesus Christ are members of the Catholic Church. Add to that the Orthodox and Armenian Communions whose differences with Rome are largely to do with 11th century politics, and the Anglican Communion who claim to be both Catholic and Reformed and that gives you over 90% of all Christians.
Jesus promised that the Gates of Hell would not prevail against his Church. Should we believe him or John Calvin?
It depends on what you are referring to. All Catholics are Christians, but not all Christians are Catholics.
A Christian is someone who is a follower of Jesus Christ: one who professes belief in Jesus as Christ or follows a religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus. A Christian is a member of a Christian Church or denomination who might be Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical, Anglican, etc.
Catholicism is a denomination, and is, therefore, a subset of Christianity. A Catholic is a member of any of the Churches regarded as Catholic, especially a Roman Catholic.
