HIV is a virus. Because it is a retrovirus HIV has 2 fragments of RNA Molecule
hiv is rna virus
No HIV attacks t cells which produce white blood cells. White blood cells attack infections and disease and viruses etc. so with no white blood cells or few of them no virus can be fought off, so something like a cold is the thing that actually kills you.
hiv contains rna, the rna i the virus go into ribosomes and effect the human body

Technically no.

By definition, a living thing must

  1. Reproduce by its own mechanism
  2. Have a metabolism
  3. Maintain homeostasis
  4. Respond to stimuli
  5. Have a genetic code
  6. Be composed of cells
  7. Grow and develop

Viruses such as HIV do not meet criteria 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 7. Viruses reproduce by hijacking a living cell to do the work for them rather than by their own mechanism.
