They have trick or treating in the UK.

In limited form this came to the UK about 20-30 years ago. It has now largely disappeared because of fears of the safety of children in dark evenings.

American military bases still have trick or treating in sympathetic countries like Germany and Italy. The children of soldiers play the trick or treat game and wear costumes.
Trick or treating may derive from the abundance of grains and fruits and dried fruits and gourds that pile up in the late fall of October and early November. Foods would just rot if not given away and stored by the grateful or angry beggar. Beggars have the best results
by begging with the children and if the child is in a cute costume well then they are a big
hit. So you could say trick or treating is making a comeback worldwide if crime is punished.

Nope it's also celebrated here in England :)

It was originally the night on which it was believed that the spirits of the dead left their bodies and went to heaven. But this belief has recently been abandoned by the catholic church. In England we go trick or treating and dress up in scary costumes, similarly to what you do in America!!
