Here are some user opinions on the topic:
Spanish is only a difficult language to learn if you have no passion or zeal to learn it. I love speaking Spanish so I think learning Spanish in classes are a piece of cake. If you have a good teacher, it should be easy. (I don't recommend computer programs)
Every language presents some difficulty when you start learning it.
It will be somewhat easier for a person who already knows some Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Latin, as there are similarities with Italian in both vocabulary and grammar.
Because the written language is mainly phonetic (i.e. the letters are almost always pronounced the same; none of the complications of English and French), and because the grammar is fairly straightforward, it is basically easier to learn than many other languages. Further down the line it gets more complicated, and even early on there are complications like gender and formal/informal modes of addressing 'you'. Nevertheless, of several languages I know, Spanish has been the most straightforward to study.
Latin is a language of the italic category of its ancestor: Indo-European. Latin is an italic language.
Learning sign language is not easy. For one thing, it is not just about the signs you learn. Sign language is a foreign language like Spanish.
If you find Spanish to be easy to learn, you'll probably have a similarly easy time learning Italian or Portuguese, or French to a certain extent.
Because a lot of the population in America speaks Spanish. And it's easy, and if your top choice college requires some foreign language in high school, Spanish is usually always offered.

There are a number of reputable websites that offer to teach you Spanish in a fun and interesting way. Some of them are even free. One of the most popular and recognizable is Rosetta Stone. http://www.rosettastone.com/learn-Spanish
When learning a new skill, a new language or a new job, the best way to approach the process is to put it into terms that you can be passionate about. Think of the last time you spent an hour on Google or Wikipedia reading everything you could about your favorite musician, actor or soda company. If you can put that kind of dedication into learning Spanish by finding a Spanish rock band you can fall in love with and learning all of their lyrics, for instance, then learning can be incredibly easy.
There are thousends of books which are published for learning Spanish. For example Spanish For Dummies by Susana Wald, Learn Spanish the Fast and Fun Way by Gene Hammitt or Mastering Spanish
A person can buy Spanish language learning games at Rosetta Stone, although it is extremely costly and the games may not be great, learning the Spanish language will be a reward in and of itself.
