First of all, i would like to tell that all depends on the institute from which you're pursuing MCA/ MTech.
For e.g. MCA from JNU or IITRoorkee would be much better than that pursuing from any other institute in the country.
Next comes the level of Understanding.
Generally, an MTech student is assumed to have much higher intelligence than MCA.
This is because he has an tech-level thinking much better than MCA, but MCA's are all from non-technical background.
Masters is always MORE and HIGH VALUE than a Bachelors.
It's really very Wrong to Compare BE / Btech to MCA, because, as you all know that BE / Btech is NOT Eligible for doing Ph.D (CS/IT), as MCA degree is Eligible for Ph.D
The Person, Who Compare BE / Btech to MCA should study about the Difference between a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree.
MCA is a Post Graduate (PG) Degree, Where as BE / Btech is just an Under Graduate (UG) Degree. So, MCA Degree Holders usually get MORE Recognition and Respect than a BE / Btech.
MCA is Equivalent to ME (Computer Science and Engineering).
Particularly, MCA with Only B.Sc. (Computer Science) background is Equivalent to ME (Computer Science and Engineering).
B.Sc. Computer Science (3 Yrs) + MCA (3 Yrs) = 6Years.
BE Computer Science (4 Yrs) + ME (2 Yrs) = 6 Years.
MCA and ME both are Equal.
Companies are giving Equal priority to both MCA and ME.
Two Master's Degrees, MCA and ME, are treated Same for jobs and there is no difference in the competence ratings.
Both MCA and ME (Computer Science and Engineering) Professional Degree courses, the contents of theory and practical syllabus are Same.
MCA and ME Degree holders are Equal to each other.
MCA - Master of Computer Applications.
ME - Master of Engineering (Computer Science and Engineering).

Practically B.Tech is much better than MCA. B.Tech is purely technical field In which one get job very easily and pay scale is also quite good as compare to MCA. After doing masters in computer application will not become an engineer and B.tech is purely engineering line.
Let give you an example: if you want to go for lectureship for technical courses a person with MCA is not eligible for teaching to B.Tech i.e a person with master degree is not eligible for this post. Now if B.tech increases his qualification to M.tech his pay scale will be upgraded but MCA + M.tech (7year) many universities and companies are not paying equality to B.tech + M.tech (6years).
Some of the top institutes where you can apply for B.Tech are:
IIT's, NIT's, BITS Pilani, Lovely Professional University.
no it is not necessary that one should do mtech after having mca degree it is good and sufficient on its own. If you are interested in research work than you should opt mtech otherwise drop it. A large number of jobs are there after mca. all the best with your future..
i am MCA and MTECH , when i apply for engineering college , we just eligible for mca not btech class , i don't know what rule these colleges are follow according to AICTE than what is our future?
MTech degree in Information Technology will be similar to MCA and other degrees, but will deal more with IT infra management rather than complex computer applications. MTech is the old form of master's degree in IT, now many substitues are there in its place MCA, MS etc. MTech focuses more on theory than application of computers
Most professors who work at Engineering colleges are MCA, ME degree holders...
NO after MCA ONLY
Anybody need faculty eligibility criteria norms for AICTE / UGC / RTI. Request the following mail : biocse@gmail.com
Yes it is possible.

i think roorkee will be batter option
I think mba is better than mca if u have the logical thinking capacity then u can choose mca once u got good knowledge in mca then mca is better than mba no risk and just sitting in front system and doing all the things
