Why did Selena Gomez leave Disney channel?

Selena should not be quitting Disney Channel. As long as I know she isn't. Unlike Emily Osment, who will not be doing every thing Disney Channel tells her to do, Selena likes Disney Channel. As long as she is with Demi, and sometimes Miley, she is having a great time! :)

The Wizard of Waverly Place already had a finale. They had a little sad party after the finale. Even the director had tears rolling down his face! Selena was really sad about it that she cried and she brought her wand home and put it in a picture frame. Now her wand of her memories is on her wall of her house.

She wanted to move on from Disney. She is now 19 years old and Wizards of Waverly Place finished, so she is no longer employed by Disney Channel. The record deal she is signed with is called Hollywood records and is owned partly by the Disney Cooporation, so she still is connected to it, but is no longer a 'disney princess.' She has grown up from Disney Channel and is now working on more serious roles, such as 'Spring Breakers' set to be released next year. She is taking on more roles that suit her age, but she does not regret her time on Disney, she still loves it :)

I don't think that she is. She still sings on Disney Channel and she still acts in Wizards of Waverley Place as Alex Russo. She has also been in movies and appeared in a bunch of TV shows.
