It depends how you like it. Starbucks uses a water that is triple filtered and reverse osmosis is used for best tasting quality.
Many people come to Starbucks and ask why their coffee does not taste the same at home and the reason is that since coffee is 90% water many people don't have the best water they can get. Especially since reverse osmosis filtration is uber expensive.
Mcdonalds has far superior coffee for a 1/3 of the price. Starbucks (fourbucks) coffee is terrible. Home brewed is the best because it is cheaper and you can make it how you like without the strange look from the sales clerk as to why you are buying plain ol' coffee like you are some kind of square.

mug
coffee ( granulated)
milk and sugar ( if needed)
Kettle with boiled water
First get a teaspoon and measure out one teaspoon of coffee then if needed add sugar and place them in the mug. Then add the amount of milk you need then stir until everything has mixed in. Then once the kettle has boiled pour in as much water as you need ( remember you have put milk in ). Stir it all together then shake the milk bottle until the milk is throthy then pour on top of coffee. And there you have a lovely throthy coffee.

Use purified water. Use a wire filter instead of a paper filter. Don't leave coffee on the burner. Use Starbucks bean coffee and grind it just prior to use.

The Moka will make a bad tasting coffee at first if i. the Moka pot is new ii. the washer or filter is replaced Therefore, the first few batches of coffee have a metallic taste. But if you are persistent, you will find that with each batch of coffee, your coffee starts to taste better as the coffee oils begin to build up in the pot. Changing the rubber washer as you say will actually lead to a rubbery/metallic taste. Give the pot some time.
