Now people, this is a conspiracy There are many rumours flying around they are satanists but they are not, their lyrics are not satanic and Serj Tankian actually thanks creator God. If evryone believes they are satanists nobody will listen. The real satanists want this because they protest against war and they know what's going wrong. Besides, there are many different types of Satanists. LaVeyan Satanists and Theistic Satanists don't worship a god. Not necessarily. Their religion basically comes down to worshipping yourself. They believe that you are your own god and that what you put your blood, sweat, and tears into, you should worship yourself, as well as praise yourself, instead of crediting someone else for your hard work.
So, are System Of A Down Satanists? No, they are not.

The lead singer has explained that he didn't believe in the modern religions but he believes in being part of the natural world - in the religions of the native American, Maori or Aboriginal (although there is quite a variation there!).
