The problem with UV is that it is only partially effective in sanitizing water in a pool environment. Similarly, for an ozone/ionizer system; chemical additions are still required and maintenance is just as intensive. For a commercial situation (we would assume that your 200,000 gallon pool is in a hotel, resort or is a public pool), the best solution by far is to install a commercial salt water chlorination system. There are numerous advantages in installing salt water chlorination system into a new or existing commercial aquatic setting, including: Lower operational costs – system eliminates the need for chemical chlorine and reduces maintenance requirements. Increased safety – eliminates the need for obtaining, transporting and storing hazardous chlorine chemicals, and reduces hazard risk and potential for chlorine gas accidents in pools. Increased customer and employee comfort – produces no noticeable Chloramines, virtually eliminating chlorine odor in and around pools and pool plant equipment sites. Also increases bather comfort by eliminating bather’s stinging eyes and chlorine odor on skin and clothing. Ian Diamond Sal-Chlor USA ian@salchlorusa.com www.salchlorusa.com

3.5% (Atlantic Ocean) One gallon is about 8 pounds or 17.6 kg so there is about 600 grams (almost 22 oz.) of salt in the gallon.
