vegetable oil has a higher cooking temperature then olive oil but olive oil is generally thought of as better for you health wise. Olive oil has more antioxidants and zero trans fat.
if you are frying stuff at a high temperature you should use a vegetable oil but for general light sauteing use olive oil and use olive oil to replace butter when making rices and pastas - it is much better for you
oh and if you fry at high temperatures with olive oil , just to clarify, it will start smoking and burn
Vegetable oil will heat up faster and hotter in a pan, veg oil is best for baking and frying; olive oil gives a distinct taste (and also for a classy dinner with friends try olive oil dipped bread) if you want to slowly cook something at a low heat, or grease an oven tray; use olive oil.
Olive oil is more healthy but requires that you cook it on lower heat than dishes using vegetable oil.
The beneficial health effects of olive oil are due to both its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids and its high content of antioxidative substances. Studies have shown that olive oil offers protection against Heart disease by controlling LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels while raising HDL (the "good" cholesterol) levels. (1-3) No other naturally produced oil has as large an amount of monounsaturated as olive oil -mainly oleic acid.
Olive oil is very well tolerated by the stomach. In fact, olive oil's protective function has a beneficial effect on ulcers and gastritis. Olive oil activates the secretion of bile and pancreatic hormones much more naturally than prescribed drugs. Consequently, it lowers the incidence of gallstone formation.
Vegetable oil may replace olive oil unless the recipe requires the distinctive taste of olive oil.

Olive oil holds heat better than vegetable oil. However, all types of cooking oils are susceptible to heat damage if they are left on a burner for too long.
rapeseed oil or vegetable oil - they have even less saturated fate than olive oil
Many would say that there is no substitue for butter, but the act of substituting olive oil for vegetable oil will indeed make a biscuit. It will, however, alter the flavor. I find in baking, olive oil is not only much healthier, but it also makes the flavor of the rest of the ingredients more vivid. I would suggest using olive oil rather than vegetable oil whenever possible.
Yes. Anytime you cook a vegetable, especially by boiling, you lose nutrients.
In substituting olive oil for vegetable oil you would use the same amounts, but bear in mind olive oil can have a stronger taste than vegetable oil. It may be wise to replace some of the oil with butter or applesauce to avoid a strong olive taste.
No, cola is (slightly) more dense than water, which is more dense than vegetable oil.
Other than being more expensive and perhaps developing a stale odor, Olive Oil should have similar properties as vegetable oil. Try mixing a small batch and take it through any usage/processes you have done with the vegetable-oil clay. Just don't try to eat it! :-) I am curious. What do you do with this clay? What is its recipe? Why do you want to change the oil ingredient.
Water is more viscous than methylated spirits, and vegetable oils are more viscous than water.
Olive oil will burn at low;er temperature than vegetable oil, and it will alter the flavor, but it would work in a pinch. YA GURL AK WAS HERE :) ALSO.. OLIVE OIL IS GROSS.
it is usually a olive green colour and smells like blended farts and is usually runnier than a runner and there is obviously something wrong with you if your poop is purple or pink but if it is olive green it is healthy.it is usually a olive green colour and smells like blended farts and is usually runnier than a runner and there is obviously something wrong with you if your poop is purple or pink but if it is olive green it is healthy.
