No.
Of course! All dogs shed-- with the possible exception of the Mexican Hairless.
Pretty short! They were bred that way on purpose, too....so that their noses are closer to the ground for tracking game.
A blood hound has longer legs than a basset and a stronger sense of smell (the best, actually, of all dogs). According to wikipedia the modern basset hound was bred from a bloodhound and another type of basset.

You can't put a dollar amount on the affection a Basset Hound gives you. You cant just think about how much they cost. You also have to tink about expensives for the future. EX:dog food, doctor checkups like for ex my dog ate a computer mouse ball and it cost over $1,ooo to get in t out. My basset hound was about $700.
This is not something that is unique to Basset hounds; there are dogs of all breeds suffer from anxiety separation. If Basset Hounds are alone, how do we know they whine? I think the answer is inconclusive.....
In my opinion, basset hounds are really sweet. I have a five year old female basset hound and I love her SO much!
