They are used in both, in passive the molecules move in , then change the shape then leave and the entering and leaving are both by diffusion.

in active transport molecules move in by diffusion, change the shape of the carrier protein, then because theyre moving into the cell where the molecule is in higher concentration energy is required to push the molecules out of the carrier proteins, this energy comes from ATP which is supplied to the carrier proteins.

Active

Passive just happens

if something needs to be carried then its being acted on... active...

active needs energy to

Is carrier proteins passive transport or active transport?

Carrier proteins can use active or passive transport depending on what type of carrier protein it is (meaning what the protein transports). The form of passive transport that they use is facilitated diffusion. An example of active transport is the Sodium Potassium pump. Active transport requires ATP. Facilitated diffusion is used to transport polar molecules and ions that cannot directly cross the cell membrane. Facilitated diffusion doesn't require energy.

Is carrier protiens active or passive transport?

it is active

Are carrier proteins active or passive transport?

Active

Is carrier an active or passive transport?

It can be either. A carrier pigeon is active whereas a malaria mosquito is passive.

Is carrier mediated passive or active?

Carrier mediated transport is not a type of a active transport......because it is a type of facilitate diffusion.

Which type of transport requires assistance from membrane proteins?

cellular transport nop, is passive transport

What is a transport protein?

It's either a passive or active transport.

Which proteins are used in active and passive transport?

Carrier Proteins

Through what type of proteins does active transport occur?

A carrier protein (as opposed to a channel protein). An example of a carrier protein is the Na+/K+ pump.

How do carrier protein recognize substances to transport in active transport?

substance to pass

There are two main ways in which molecules are transported into and out of cells - active transport and passive transport. Which of the following statements is true of passive transport?

Carrier proteins are sometimes used during passive transport.

Facilitated diffusion and active transport?

Facilitated diffusion = down concentration gradient, it just uses a carrier protein (doesn't need energy)Active transport =goes UP concentration gradient with the help of a carrier protein and ENERGY
