Yes if the anesetic wears off before the doc gets to you like what happened at my last one. Also make sure the nurse gets enough gel into the urethra. Sometimes they put it in too fast and it doesn't get the chance to go far enough down. Docs seem to think because women have shorter urethras we don't feel pain like the men do. This is BS.
Yes, sometimes just a few drops. Sometimes a trickle. Happens during urination and is painful.
Cystoscopy (cystourethroscopy)
Cystoscopy is generally a very safe procedure.
A cystoscopy typically lasts from 10-40 minutes
Not at all! For some people it can be very painful to have a cystoscopy without anesthesia because of certain bladder issues. Having a cystoscopy under anesthesia allows the doctor to take a better look at the bladder without the patient moving or being tense. It also allows the doctor to see how a person's bladder operates when they don't feel the pain or discomfort. So once again, no you are definitely not a wimp for having this procedure under anesthesia!
