Clinically speaking, there are a whole range of conditions related to dwarfism, each with its own specific pathology and symptoms.
Neither "dwarf" nor "midget" are a clinical medical term - they are common-use terms (medically, one suffers from a form of dwarfism, but is NOT a dwarf). Historically, the term "midget" tended to be used to refer to those short persons who retained anatomical proportionalism - that is, they appeared to be normally proportioned, just shorter. "Dwarf" was often used for those who were short but had disproportionate-sized limbs and head (often, a larger than normal head with smaller than normal proportioned limbs).
Medically, while there is some correlation between absolute height and specific forms of dwarfism, this has little to do with any external feature that lay people would discern. There is no way to make any statement about height differences between midgets and dwarfs, because, scientifically, there is no such thing as either of them. Or, rather, the meaning of midget and dwarf is so inexact that no comparison could possibly be made.

∙ 12y agoNo, there is no difference. Dwarf is the medical term used while midget is used in a more in public between people. They mean the same thing, someone who is short and under 5'1". I'm glad I'm not a dwarf.
