When you put food in your mouth, two processes are at work to begin digesting.
The first process is chewing. This causes a physicalchange in the food. In short, it changes shape and mixes with saliva.
The second process is digestion by saliva. Saliva induces some chemical changes, such as the break down of starches into sugars.
To be honest i am wondering about this kind of question and dying to get the answer. It seems to make sense in both physical and chemical ways. Can hardly give an exact definition but i am thinking that chemical leads to physical.
Anyway the change of essence leads to the one of exterior.
Maybe.
Who knows. :)
Chewing food results in a physical change. However, saliva in your mouth causes a chemical change to carbohydrates.
if anything, it's a biological change : (it is not a chemical change)
it's just an increase in the amount of saliva that is always being produced.
Eating (excepting mastication) is a chemical process.
It is physical change. There are no chemical reactions taking place when you sand wood.
No. There is a change in substance taking place, so it would be considered a chemical change.
It is a sign that a chemical change is taking place, rather than a physical change.
A physical reaction is when no new substances are formed, there is a change of state eg ice melting to a liquid. A chemical change is when the reaction forms a new substance. eg gas bubbles. An acid reaction can be both. You need to look at the reaction taking place, look for change of state (physical) or any colour change or gas bubbles (chemical).
Not necessarily. It does, however, indicate that a reaction is taking place.
A physical change
Physical because no reaction is taking place.
chemical change.
Pure physical - until you use soap.
It is physical change. There are no chemical reactions taking place when you sand wood.
Because no chemical reaction is taking place. It is the same substance, just in a different state of matter.
No. It is a physical change. The chemical formula for water is H2O, and that is also the chemical formula for ice. So there is no chemical change taking place, only a change in the state of matter.
physical... the matter itself does not change. That would imply that a chemical change is taking place
No. There is a change in substance taking place, so it would be considered a chemical change.

Flotation is a physical change. It involves changing the density or buoyancy of an object in a liquid to make it float or sink. There is no chemical reaction taking place during flotation.
