A row would go across and a column would be going down. Example would best be found in a spreadsheet software application (I.E. EXCEL). You would insert a row and move other cells down or insert a column to move other cells to the side.

Group is a column going down. Period is a row going across.

but it is really up and down not straight across. I disagree with that a row is straight across

The horizontal line (Row Across) is called periods, and the verticle columns (Row down) anre called groups.

a row going acrossNOT to be confused with groups or families which go down in columns and have to do with valence electrons

A column of elements (going down, vertically) is called a group. A row of elements (going across, horizontally) is called a period. Sodium, element 11, is in the first group and the third period on the periodic table.

Level 30 of Blox - Rows going across: Row 2 Blue arrow - down Row 3 Green arrow - down Row 4 Blue arrow - down Row 5 both Blue arrows - up Row 6 Blue arrow - up, Red Arrow - right Row 7 Blue arrow - down Row 8 Blue arrow - down Row 9 Blue arrow - left Row 10 Blue arrow - right

Go to the top, then move across when the laser in that row is down, and at the last row, follow it down.

going down a group, electronegativity decreases going across a period, electronegativity increases

A row is arranged horizontally or across, whereas a column is vertical or up and down. In a spreadsheet, a row is a set of single cells beside each other across the spreadsheet. a column is a set of single cells on top of each other up or down the spreadsheet.

Each row across is called a period (numbered 1-7) and each column going down forms a group.

Electronegativity increases across (left to right) the periodic table and decreases on going down.

The odds for an ace of hearts game going down to four cards 8 times in a row is 30 percent.

A row across the periodic table is called a period.

The rows going across the periodic table are called periods. As you go across a row, each element increases in number of protons and electrons, which distinguishes it from other elements in the table.

A row header are the numbers that run down the page to identify the row of cells that go across the sheet (horizontal cells). Columns are the headings that are at the top of the page and represent the cells that go up and down the sheet (vertical cells).

A cell is an individual box in a table or a spreadsheet. A row is line of vertical cells across, and a column is a group of vertical cells, going up/down.

John Fairfax was the first person to row across the Atlantic in 1969.

Periods are the elements on the periodic table that go across, in rows. So basically going across each row is called a period

Both electronegativity and ionization energy increase across a period from left to right, and decrease down a group from top to bottom.

It's a term on how to commit suicide cutting your wrists. you kill yourself by cutting down your arm(down the river) not by going across the street(slashing across your arm)

You can drag across the row to select it.

Atoms increase in size as you go down a column and are larger going from right to left across a row.because while going from left to right in a period electrons enter in the same orbit and hence the attraction between the nucleus increases ,,

I'm having trouble visualizing this. If it is something like:XXXXXXXXX/XXXXThen you have 5 + 4 + (middle row). The middle row is half way between 4 and 5, so it is 4.5: 5 + 4 + 4.5 = 13.5
