It depends on what type of saxophone you are talking about. I play tenor and baritone saxophone and they are both low pitch. But my teacher plays suprano and alto sax which are high pitch.

Would a long object make a high or low pitch?

Generally speaking, the longer the instrument, the lower the
pitch i.e. tuba; the shorter the instrument, the higher the pitch
i.e. picallo. There are variations, such as the french horn, but
they are the exception.
This principal is also used in tuning; pulling the mouthpiece on
a saxophone out will drop the pitch (the instrument is now longer),
and pushing it in will raise the pitch (it is now shorter).

Does the saxophone play high or low notes?

The saxophone is a unique instrument because it is classified as
a wood due to it's reed, but it primarily composed of copper,
brass, or metal. There are different types of saxophones, and they
have different ranges. The saxophone family as a whole has a large
range that is bigger than any of the other instrument family
ranges. Each saxophone though has a decent range too. The
contrabass, bass, and Bari saxophone tend to play low notes. The
tenor and alto saxophone tend to play slightly low to slightly
high. The soprano and sopranino play extremely high notes.

What is low b on alto saxophone?

The pitch of a low b on alto saxophone is a concert pitch of d.
the fingering for that note is all of your fingers down. Your left
little finger will be on the middle key that's furthest from the
body of the saxophone and your right little finger will be on the C
key, or the key that is nearest to the bottom of the saxophone.
