Hello BITS is obviously a recognized institution. But an MS from BITS over distance will help you only in Building up a theoretical knowledge of the concepts you might have covered in ur UG. If you really wanna pursue a postgraduate why don't you take up week end classes in SRM / Sathyabama Universities which will give you more value ? BITS Pilani is a deemed university and hence, does not need approval from AICTE (Deemed universities don't need AICTE approval). AICTE was formed much after the UGC Deemed University act was approved. It is however recognized by UGC as the 5 star university (highest rank), and hence, can confer it's own degrees which are equally reputed as the IITs.
