A five ounce serving of dinner wine and a shot of liquor (distilled spirits) each contain the same amount of absolute alcohol, 0.6 oz. They, in turn, contain the same aboiunt of alcohol as a standard 12 ounce beer. This fact is called "alcohol equivalence."

yes there is...but only if you go by the following. A glass of wine is 6 ounces, beer is 12 ounces, and a shot is either 1or 1 and a half ounces. The proof may be higher in one or the other, but in a serving they are the same

The amount of alcohol in a standard drink of wine (five oz.) and a standard drink of distilled spirits (1.5 oz.) is 0.6 oz. of pure alcohol. The health benefits and longevity of drinking them in moderation is also equivalent.

Maybe. For most mass produced beverages that is a reasonable starting point, but beer and wine can vary greatly in their alcohol content. Most average beers run about 5% alcohol by volume. Most wines run about 12-14% alcohol by volume. However, there are beers that will run as high as 12% alcohol and wines that are only 9%. Read the labels and understand what amounts your body can tolerate.

Is there the same amount of alcohol in a glass of wine a canna beer and a shot of liquor?

It depends on what type of beer or wine it is and who brewed it. There's no exact measure but if you want a generalized average, beer generally is around 5% ABV (which in this case a can of beer will contain more than a shot [in the US a shot is about 1.5 fluid ounces]).

What is a unit of alcohol?

A unit of alcohol is the amount of alcohol that is in one (12-oz or 16-oz) beer, one (6-oz) glass of wine, or one shot of hard liquor. 12 ounces (approx. 375ml) of 5% beer will contain about 18ml of pure alcohol; that is approximately one unit.

Beer and liquor makes you sicker?

Liquor contains far more alcohol per unit of volume than beer. A typical beer is somewhere around 5% alcohol, whereas liquor typically contains over 40%. This means it takes much less liquor to get intoxicated(drunk) vs beer. Liquor also dehydrates the body more because of the higher alcohol content. Beer contains a large amount of water and therefore helps combat this effect.
