No. Aluminum (aluminium) is not a magnetic metal. To illustrate this, place a magnet on an aluminum soda can: it won't stick.

The main magnetic metals are iron and nickel. Practically all steel alloys (iron and carbon) are attracted to magnets.

No.

Aluminium is a paramagnetic material and has not a permanent magnetization like a ferromagnetic material. Instead, Al only shows a weak magnetic moment in presence of an external magnetic field. When this external field is released, the Al loses his magnetism.

The reason is that the electronic configuration of Al is: [Ne] 3s2 3p1 and only has one unpaired electron in his outer electronic shell (the 3p1 electron). This lonely electron is not strongly coupled whit the unpaired electrons from its nearest atomic neighbours, like in a ferromagnet, and so it cannot sustain a permanent magnetic order.

There are three strongly magnetic metals, iron, nickel, and cobalt, if an alloy of alumnium and one of these is made, then this has the potential to be magnetic.

But pure aluminum is not magnetic.

no, aluminum is non ferrous (no iron) only iron will attract a magnettic field

Is aluminized steel magnetic?

No, there are alloys that are magnetic. They contain at least one of the three main magnetic elements (iron, nickel, cobalt). The most common magnetic alloy is steel, which is iron and carbon. Another magnetic alloy is alnico, which is composed of aluminum, nickel and cobalt. I hope this helps.

How do you you use the word alloy in a sentence?

An alloy typically refers to combining two (or more) different metals together to make a hybrid of the two. In a sentence: "The skin of the rocket was made out of a strong aluminum and steel alloy." Iron and nickel in the outer core form an alloy, or a mixture of metallic elements. The magnetic properties of stainless steel vary from alloy to alloy. The color is "white gold" but the alloy too soft, about as soft as silver. These plates are made of very strong aluminum alloy with corprene facings bonded to them. The Hindenburg 's latticework airframe was constructed of a lightweight alloy composed largely of aluminum and copper.
