Arsenic and arsenic compounds are poisonous. Arsenic (As), tarnishes in the air, and when heated quickly oxidizes to arsenous oxide. When arsenic and some minerals containing arsenic are heated, they will sublime (transfer from a solid to a gaseous state, skipping the liquid state).

It can be poisonous. That's about all I know.

Arsenic is a metalloid element, atomic number 33, first documented in 1250. It is found in gray, yellow, and black allotropes, with gray being the most common; it also appears in many minerals, in conjunction with sulphur and metals. When heated in air, it oxidizes to arsenic trioxide, which has a distinctive smell; some arsenic compounds convert directly to gas when heated, without an intervening liquid state.

It has one stable isotope that is not, but it ispoisonous to humans. A couple of dozen radioactive isotopes have been synthesized, and they are uniformly unstable. Use the link below for more information.

There is only one stable isotope of arsenic, but there are dozens of unstable isotopes of this element. Use the link below to investigate further. Another contributor pointed out that there would have to be at least one isotope of an element known if that element itself was known. Otherwise the element would remain unknown.

Very reactive, which is why it is an effective poison.

Arsenic is nonreactive because it is on the right side of the Periodic Table of elements and it has a relatively high first ionization level.
