Not in excessive amounts. It contains Vitamin B complex and is fairly low in alcohol, so one or two may actually be good for you, provided you aren't silly enough to drink to excess or do it before driving or operating heavy mobile machinery.

It is very high in calories though, so slimmers and diabetics are advised to avoid it, as are people taking certain prescribed medicines.

Light to moderate beer drinking can have many health benefits as human body naturally needs the ingredients found in beer, except for chemicals and preservatives from the growing and production process. An average beer contains the following:

 carbohydrate

 sodium

 protein

 calcium,

 potassium,

 phosphorus

 vitamins B, B2, and B6

 alcohol

Alcohol use in moderation improves good cholesterol and prevents blood from clotting in a way similar to aspirin. Ingredients like B vitamins or folates have been shown to reduce homocysteine levels in the blood and reduce Heart disease risk. Phytoestrogens coming from hops, which are used in brewing process, prevent bone loss. Beer has also a relaxing effect on the body thereby reducing stress and helping you sleep better. Finally, most of the weight gain people commonly attribute to beer drinking has to do with the snacks that accompany beer drinking.

However, abuse of alcohol can cause addiction, depression and other mental and psychological consequences. Excessive drinking contributes to liver diseases and may increase the risk of alcohol-related accidents.

Alcohol is a still very much an unknown in the health field. It is known that over use leads to addiction and major health problems, including cirrhosis of the liver. But in small quantities, one or two beers a day, there appear to be health benefits. And alcohol leads to the removal of inhibitions, which mean people do things they wouldn't, and often shouldn't, ever do when sober, including live changing things, such as sex and driving under the influence and even drugs.

Most produced beer contains chemicals and preservatives. Some individuals have sensitivities to hops and hop oils. Many dogs can die from eating hops, though it doesn't appear to be a problem with humans.

no

It depends. If you drink a little maybe once or twice a month, you should have no heath problems what so ever. If you drink a lot of beer you're most diffidently going to have health problems as you get older.

No, beer is not good for you, and lots of beer is definitely not good for you.

That being said, the properties in beer and alcohol in general, if taken in moderation can help you relax and de-stress. There are other ways which are better you physically to help with stress and relaxation - exercising being one of them.

For male it is perfectly healthy to drink 1-2 beers a day. For a female it is perfectly healthy to drink about 1 a day. Alcohol in moderation provides a lot of benefits:

The alcohol itself studies have shown has a positive effect in warding off Alzheimers disease, heart disease, stroke, Diabetes, gall stones. It also has a positive effect on cholesterol. It appears that moderate amounts of alcohol on a daily basis can increase the HDL cholesterol (good) and reduce the LDL or bad cholesterol. People who have a drink a day on average have a longer lifespan than non-drinkers.

Beer is made from grains, water and yeast. Grains commonly used are barley and wheat (with cheaper, mass-produced beers relying on corn and rice), both of which are loaded with a variety of vitamins that survive the fermentation and filtering process. And the vitamin value of the yeast is conserved in the hundreds of unfiltered beers that are on the market -- both on tap and in bottles.

Wine also has flaonoids and nonflavonoids that are antioxidents that are good for the heart and immune system. Read the link from the mayo clinic for all sorts of info on wine.

But...the key is only to drink in moderation...excessive alcohol consumption ups your risk for all sorts of disease and negative consequences. So enjoy a drink or two and toast to your health...just remember to practice moderation.

Budweiser is a highly refined and filtered lager, made with a high percentage of adjuncts (non-malt fermentables like corn sugar); and because of this, lacks many of the elements of beer that have positive health claims made about them.

No matter what beer you are drinking, and what health claims are made, remember than beer contains alcohol, and should be consumed responsibly and in moderation.
