There is. Not only does it filter blood and gore, it filters out F-Bombs and other very profane swear words.
There is in Call of Duty World at War and the most recent Call of Duty Black Ops. This filter can be changed In the options menu in World at War. In Black Ops though, it asks you on first time startup if you want to filter graphic content. This filter means that there is no blood and language other than the occasional "b*tch" in Black Ops.

No you can not Turn off swearing in MW3. Swearing is a part of all Call Of Duties and Trearch or Infinity Ward will not turn swearing off.

this game should only be suitable for children above the age of 10, due to swearing, DEATH, guts+gore, ZOMBIES, and etc. whomever can withstand all of that is an normal FPS player, unless its your first FPS game....
