ANSWER
I heard it can make your knuckles look really ugly. This is bad if you want to be a hand model.
ANSWER
In fact, it does harm your knuckles. I'm the living proof. It doesn't hurt, but the joints I cracked are swollen. The XRay scans certainly didn't look pretty. Probably damaged ligaments said the doctor. In case you wonder: my general health is excellent, I have never broken a bone in my life and no one in my family has Arthritis, neither do I. So, speaking from experience, please be careful. It does not make your fingers less functional, but it does make them ugly. That is, 3 to 5 millimeters extra on every side of a cracked knuckle.

I crack my knuckles toes and just about everything else about twenty times a day and in my opinion it loosens up your body and makes it easier to move I'm a dancer and I can't dance with out having my back popped by someone who knows what their doing so I believe cracking you joints is good and cant "deform" you.
clicking your fingers in normal, but not entirly healthy as it is an exess of nitrogen in your synoval joints in your finger joints which as your click your fingers more builds and builds so, if you stop your fingers will eventually go back to normal and you will not have the feeling that you need to crack them.
because the cracking noise made from your fingers is actually you partially fracturing your phallange bone. If you continue this behavior you will eventually break your fingers.

With all due respect, the above answer is not true . . . it is what's called an Old Wive's Tale.
In fact, when you crack your joints, you are making the volume around the joint try to be larger. This creates a suction that pulls tiny bubbles of nitrogen gas out of the natural fluid in the joints . . . this is called, "Cavitation". As the tiny bubbles form or collapse, they make the clicking sound.
It takes a little while for the nitrogen gas to be absorbed back into the fluid, which is why you generally cannot immediately crack the joint, again.
Cracking your joints causes no known problems.
It probably does not harm you BUT some people find the habit and sound very annoying or off putting - thus, yes it is bad to crack your fingers.
in short small little air bubbles in fluids that run through your finger joints
i was told that there are little bubbles in between your joints and that when you crack your knuckles it just pops them, and will not lead to arthritis
