Gravitational energy is partly potential energy, -mGM/r and partly vector energy cmV. The vector energy is not recognized because physicists define energy as a scalar, not a vector. The Universe defines energy as a Quaternion the sum of a scalar and a vector.

Kinetic energy is scalar energy subset of potential energy.

The gravitational energy is a Quaternion:

W = -mGm/r + cmV = -vh/r + cP =-vp + cP = -mv2 + cP

The Law of Gravity creates a velocity field V that imposes itself on the mass m. The potential energy is -vp = -mv2 and the vector energy cP= cmV.

The gravitational field cause both the potential energy and the vector energy. What Newton and physicists have done is to miss the fact that the mass m is moving with velocity and thus has vector momentum , vector energy.

No. Gravitational energy is a type of potential energy.

What is an example of gravitational energy transforming to mechanical energy?

Gravitational potential energy IS mechanical energy. Mechanical energy includes both kinetic energy, and potential energy. When an object falls, gravitational potential energy will be converted to KINETIC energy.

Is gravitational energy kinetic?

Gravitational energy is the potential energyassociated with the gravitational field.

How does the sum of Kinetic and gravitational Potential energy change?

The answer depends on the situation. For example, the sum of the kinetic and gravitational potential energy of an aircraft which is taking off will increase.

An avalanche demonstrates what kind of energy conversion?

Gravitational potential energy to kinetic energy

What is an example of gravitational potential energy tranforming in kinetic energy?

A falling stone.

Example of conversion of gravitational potential energy into kinetic energy?

The simplest example is a falling object. Its potential energy is reduced, while its speed, and thus its kinetic energy, increases.

Elastic energy is the total potential and kinetic energy in a system?

No. For example a falling stone is converting potential energy of gravitational attraction into kinetic energy, and there is no elastic energy.

The energy of position such as a rock on a hill is what energy?

Gravitational energy Potential energy

Energy due to position is called?

kinetic kinetic

Thermal gravitational gravitational potential kinetic potential sound and mechanical energy is found in a saxophone?

thermal and gravitational and gravitational potential and kinetic and poential and sound and mechanical energy is found in a saxaphone.

Can energy to be both potential energy and kinetic energy?

Yes but not both at the same time. All energy is conserved, therefore energy before equals energy after. For example jumping from a ten metre diving board you have gravitational potential energy as you are fulling gravitational potential energy is converted to kinetic energy.
