Grell Sutcliff is physically male, but he has feminine leanings. He will sometimes refer to himself with masculine pronouns, and sometimes with feminine pronouns. All characters in Kuroshitsuji, including the creator Yana Toboso refer to Grell as 'he'. Though Grell certainly is not entirely a masculine character.

well while some people claim is a boy thanks to certain facts from anime we can be 100% certain is a girl dressed as a boy.

First fact anime censorship towards girls,while this detail isn't shown that much in nudes scenes from Ciel his body is always censored,and when there was no censorship he was covering his breasts with one hand and the covering the lower part with other hand.

Higheels,well Ciel was shown since the beginning wearing highheels which seem weird in a boy.

Pierced ears,this detail is what point more towards Ciel being female normally only anime girls are shown with pierced ears there are some male characters that have pierced ears but they are yankees or delinquents
