Hemophilia ia a sex linked disorder that is normally recessive. There are many cases however where trait shows "incomplete or shared" dominance. In these cases the females will have lowered percentages of the clotting factor proteins and may for all intents and purposes be considered mild or moderate hemophiliacs themselves.

How does a person inherit hemophilia and is it dominant or recessive?

It is a sex-linked recessive trait inherited from the mother.

Is hemophilia co dominant or dominant?

It is very much recessive with only one exception, which is that there is a large portion of women who simply carry the trait but dont actually have it. If you are to procreate with a female carrier than your chances of having a hemophiliac child are still not very high. You can find all the info you need by using a Punnett Square method to figure out the chances of hemophiliac children with 2 parents.

How does hemophilia progress?

Hemophilia is a recessive allele condition. Men can get hemophilia alot easier than women as the allele is found on the XY Chomosome pair. With men. they do not have the extra "tail" on the Y chromosome compared to the XX with a female. If the person has the recessive allele on the X chromosome and this person is male, they will be a hemophiliac as they do not have a 'pair' allele which could be dominant to stop the condition expressing itself. On a female, if there is a recessive (hemophilia) allele on one of the X chromosomes but on the other is a Dominant (normal) allele then she will be a carrier of the faulty gene but will not suffer from the condition herself. If the female have a recessive (faulty) gene on each of the XX chromosomes, then she will be a sufferer of the disease.

Are sex linked traits dominent?

Some are dominant ... some of the most noteworthy negative ones: color blindness, hemophilia are recessive.

What can be dominant or recessive?

Alleles can be dominant or recessive

What is dominant recessive?

There is dominant and there is recessive. There is no dominant recessive. A dominant gene will always be expressed when present, such as in the homozygous dominant genotype (RR), or heterozygous genotype (Rr). A recessive allele is only expressed when the genotype is homozygous recessive (rr).

Is a widows peak dominant or recessive?

Dominant definitely not dominant. It is recessive objectively and subjectively and unequivocally.

Is a situation in which a dominant allele completely masks a recessive allele for a gene.?

If you have 2 dominant alleles, the gene will be dominant, if you have 2 recessive alleles, the gene will be recessive. But if you have 1 recessive and 1 dominant, the Dominant allele will mask the recessive one.
