It's just as bad for you as high fructose cane sugar. The sugar is cooked up with tartaric acid to make it a syrup and to draw out the fructose and glucose to make it sweeter.

It is obviously more harmful than regular sugar since it is sweeter. But again, it entirely depends on how much you consume.
