Right here on Wiki Answers!!! Some non-profit organizations would have to protect themselves from potential lawsuits by prohibiting minors from volunteering. Non-profit agencies that are likely to have this policy include charities that cater to causes that involve potentially dangerous activities. These agencies include (but are not limited to) animal welfare organizations, child abuse hotlines, battered women's shelters, legal rights advocates, drug/alcohol rehabilitation centers and suicide hotlines. Answer Many places would be all to glad to have you volunteer for them. My sons worked in thrift stores, food banks and at the Veteran's hospital. Possibly you might check the local humane societies or "no kill" shelters. The work may not be glamorous, but you will definitely take the experience with you. If you want to work at a local hospital next year (this is August), you should make the calls for an application now. Typically, those fill up quickly.
You could do a lot, for example dog walking, helping the elders in a care home, working in an animal shelter, babysitting, etc. I think you can also get a Saturday job which pays if you want to.
Thirteen year olds can volunteer in many different places. Try the: YMCA A Pickering Creek (if you have one) A local summer camp Elderly Home Local Hospitals Community Projects Soup Kitchens Also let said teen choose so at least he/she will enjoy themselves
Yes. It all matters on what you volunteer for. I myself have been volunteering as a dog trainer since i was 12 years old. Now I'm on the verge of becoming a legal dog trainer and I'm almost 15. Just chick with whatever group or organization you want to volunteer for about there age limit for volunteering. With my group we have a 9 year old as a trainer (he's actually really good too).
you could possible go to your local hair dresser and ask if you could sweep the hair up and make tea and coffee and answer the phone.
I think girl should focus on her education and when she will be in university, then she can be part of the gap year program.

Absolutly all both children need is to have a babysitting liscense with red cross. In fact the 10 and 12 year olds could babysit on there own if they would like.
No where you have to Volunteer and then start working at 18
ASPCA has a lot of volunteer work. So does Petsmart. If Michigan has those places that is. Or you can check out any local vet's clinic. That's what I did before I was able to get a job; volunteer work with animals.
Not much except volunteer work and house work.
