It is in 4 Wheel drive all the time
No. A "all wheel drive" is all the time four wheel drive. A 4x4 or 4-wheel drive can be set to drive in two wheel drive or four wheel drive.
Yes. If you look at your 4 wheel drive lever, it will say "All-Time 4 wheel" or 4x All Time".
It doesn't have a low range gear, so it's not a 4 wheel drive. It is more accurately known as all wheel drive.
No...it's all-time 4 wheel drive. You would have to disassemble the drive shaft ,which in turn would leave you with no 4 wheel drive at all.
a 4 wheel drive vehicle has the options of engaging 2 or 4 wheel drive when you need 4 wheel drive.for example to get out of mud . all wheel drive means that all wheels constantly have power to them.there are no options except tha they work all the time. all wheel drive is usually on highway cars not off road cars, and all wheel drive basically helps with traction and braking in inclement weather. so pretty much if ya are stuck in mud in all wheel drive, that's pretty much where you are going to stay until you are towed
No. They are All Wheel Drive or Front Wheel Drive
It kicks in when slip is detected. Four wheel drive is not on all the time, only when needed.
No.
yes it is at all time.
True 4 wheel drive has a dedicated low range gear. There are stick shift cars with full time all wheel drive that apply power to all 4 wheels all the time, just like a 4 wheel drive; however, they do not have the dedicated low range gear found on off road 4 wheel drive vehicles and are therefore less capable under those conditions. The average road driver though would not notice a performance difference between the two. The subaru impreza and subaru legacy are cars that have a stick shift and full time all wheel drive. No doubt there are others.
All Subarus, not just the Forester, are "all wheel drive".
