I take it you are in school. I have to say no you shouldn't pass notes to him in school. It could embarrass him and in turn embarrass you. If you need to say something to him then say it to his face. One has to be careful what they put in writing (especially if you are in school) because you might be the brunt of jokes in the future and considering this is private and coming from your heart this could hurt you a great deal.
