um well no. it should be ok. i have a 6month old girl and a 4year old boy guinea pig and we are going to mate them. yes it's ok. make sure the female is under 10mnths old if youre mating her for the first time as the first litter has to be before then or there will be big difficultys at birth where her birth canel has developed and the babies will get stuck which will result in there death and maybe the mothers. girls fight together so prob not good idea!!
Well actually yes, they might fight. Males guinea pig's in general tend to fight with another therefor, it is a better idea to have two females or a male and a female together. But some males can get along, but usually males tend to fight.
There is usually no problem with adding a new guinea pig even if you already have one. The best combination is to have a female, then introduce a new female. It isn't a good idea to introduce a new guinea pig if you have a male, unless you bring in a female because you want them to breed. If you must add a new male, try wshing it first to remove all old traces of its previous companions, as male guinea pigs are a lot more territorial than females.
Another guinea pig of the same gender. Guinea pigs are social creatures that get lonley if kept on their own. Most people choose to keep female guinea pigs in groups as you can have problems with boars (male guinea pigs) fighting. You can of course keep two or more guinea pigs of the opposite gender but unless you want baby piggies it's not a good idea. Hope it helped.
Guinea Pigs are social animals and ideally, need another Guinea Pig living with them. It is possible to only have one, but if you want your Guinea Pig to be happy, having two would be a better idea.
A well fed female guinea pig should weigh between 700-900g. It can sometimes be a bit more or a bit less. It's a good idea to monitor your guinea pig's weight so if she falls ill you would be able to tell by her weight loss.
They could be put into a cage together. However, if there is a female guinea pig in the cage with them, that's not a good idea. As they get older they tend to get more aggressive.
Male guinea pigs are just as friendly as female guinea pigs, but two male guinea pigs together can become extremely aggressive and fight. Two males can get along in the same cage, but the owner must make sure that they have plenty of space and follow cavyspirit.com's guidelines for introducing new guinea pigs.Guinea pigs are social animals, so keeping one alone isn't a good idea. Keeping a male and a female together will result in the female becoming impregnated. So, if you want a male pig, see if you can adopt a bonded pair (aka already gets along).
Well, it really depends, see, if you are planning on getting two guinea pig's it's not the best idea to get two males.. They tend to fight. So if you are planning on getting two guinea pig's I suggest that you get either two females or a female and a male. But, if you get a male and a female , they can have baby's but females usually only have baby's after about 4months of age. But if you are planning on getting just one guinea pig, both males and females are great!
Males do too. time for a visit for a nail trim? they bite them when they want their toes trimmed but i do have no idea about biting other guinea pigs they might be fighting or its a way of having a baby.
well i think its ok for them to have sex because me and my older brother did and if humans can why not guinea pigs Yes... but is it a good idea to let them? I'm sure someone else will expand on this. guinea pigs can deffinantly mate with their brothers and sisters. it is a good idear to let them because when guinea pigs find their mating partner the male might kill the female of the babies but whenh they are brother and sister they have grown up together and are used to each others company!
i got no idea what ann sisters even me lol :)
having two males and one female is a VERY bad idea becuase, the males will fight for the female and who ever wins the fight gets the female but, they will keep fighting and one of those male guinea pigs will have injuries so i will suggest having a male and a female or jus one guniea pig or if you do this bad i dea then one day the guniea pig will die so keep the guniea pigs seperate.
i have no idea what you are talking about!
No, this is not a good idea.
Sometimes when you buy a guinea pig and you can't spend much time with it they can get lonely, so if you can't spend much time with your guinea pig, then it would be a good idea to buy another guinea pig friend. But be careful, sometimes guinea pigs don't like each other and will fight, and if this happens and one of your guinea pigs is not strong enough to fight for itself it could get killed. Be careful! Message me if you have any more guinea pig or rabbit questions!! :D Jillian!
It's a very bad idea. The male will continually bother and harrass the female and even sometimes manage to mount and succeed, whether you THINK she's in estrus or not.
No, it's not a good idea to use Pantene shampoo on your guinea pig. When bathing a guinea pig you should use baby shampoo.
yes because if you do then the s-5 month old guinea-pig could die because it is not within its age group and the older guinea-pig will pick on the smaller guinea-pig and the older guinea-pig will take advantage of the smaller guinea-pig cause i did that and my younger guinea-pig died a week later so don't do it cause you may be a murderur it not a bad idea at all .... i have 6 guinea pigs and the males r very happy with having a male friend in with them .... The person at the top is young and unsure, yes you can as long as there is enough space for the guinea pigs to have their own territory. Look up CC cages.
yes, that way they wont have any problems when they grow older because the have been brought up together. only it isn't a good idea to introduce an older male guines pig to another older one as they havent been brought up together and ma fight.
Not unless you want baby guinea pigs haha! I myself have two female guinea pigs that live together and was wanting to obtain a male guinea pig a few months ago as well, I checked with a few different pet stores and they said it is a really bad idea since guinea pigs can have a litter with up to 10 pups in it, and unless you can keep all the pups every time your guinea pigs breed you will most likely have a hard time finding a home for them, so overall I wouldn't suggest it but you can keep the male in a different cage and under supervision by yourself let them play together to watch and make sure they do not breed.
Just ask yourself these questions: # do i find other women attractive # would i be alright with the idea of kissing another female? # Would i ever be ok with having sex with another female? That is what my cousin asks herself. (She IS lesbien but has her doubts!)
Guinea Pigs are very active if they are happy and a big part of your life. I get my guinea pigs out every other day so they can runaround in the back yard (if you do this make sure your grass does not have chemicals on it, chemicals can kill your guinea pig.) It is a good idea to get two guinea pigs because they are social animals. If you have two guinea pigs they will be happier and more active because they are never bored. It is a good idea if you feed your guinea pigs spinage and carrots as treats If you do all that you will have very happy and active guinea pigs.
well you really want to lose your guinea pig's) OK but my dad said it was a bad idea to take them on a walk. They soon will probably find a way to get out of the leash
depends what its dying of? . if its in distress it might be a good idea to have it put to sleep - if they do that to guinea pigs?
do not breed your guinea pigs. bad idea plus you have to give them to someone or keep them. there are too many homeless animals in the world. get a pet store guinea pig or something.
