It is against the law to hide your car from repossession in every state. It is called fraud, interfering with repossession, auto theft in some states. In Indiana it is routinely dealt with by replevin, an order from the court to surrender the property or go to jail and surrender the property.
Nothing will happen to a person if they hid a motorcycle that is being repossessed. Eventually, the company that is trying to repossess will either give up or find you. They will use all tools at their disposal depending how much is owed at the time.
Yes, if you haven't made your payments then you have broke your agreement with the leinholder. Basically you are hiding a vehicle that isn't yours which is theft and if I'm not mistaken the last time I checked theft is against the law and is usually followed by punishment of the courts and law enforcement.
You can hide it but, they'll come back later for it.
I'm not too sure, but good question!
A repossession can take place whenever you default, which is actable completely at the discretion of the lienholder. However, if the lender gets a court order, you must comply, as that's an order that subjects disobedience is punishable. If you keep it from the rightful owner you are guilty of theft.
Yes, it is against the law to hide an illegal person.

Absolutely. Once the car is considered repo'd it is all paperwork, otherwise you could just hide the car from the lender.
Well, no. If the car is registered in your name, they will know you own it regardless of wether or not they can find it. If you hide it from them, they will simply file a lawsuit against you for the value of the car. And they will win.
Yes, make your payments or contact the lender and work something out. They do not want to repo your car. They loose, and you loose big time. Talk to them. Not with the police it is a civil matter between you and the lender.
Gina, if the repoman picks it up. its a REPO. Ya cant hide the car in a repair shop.
If a court order has been issued (A 'Writ of Replevin') then you must turn the car over. If you purposefully hide it after this (Concealment) then this is an offence that you can be charged for, and prison is certainly one outcome.
