Best Answer

Instruments that were left on the moon by Apollo astronauts that measured heat flow showed that most of the heat that was left in the moon's core was cooled (it is still too hot for humans in the core).

The Jovian moon Io is both very hot and very cold, depending on the location. There is practically no atmosphere to distribute heat from the many erupting volcanoes, which periodically cover areas of the surface with sulfur and silicate lava.

The surface temperature in areas of low volcanic activity is very cold, below -140 degrees C (-220 F ), so that some areas are covered in frozen sulfur dioxide gas. Where eruptions are occurring, the surface temperature is briefly as high as 1000 to 1300 degrees C, and a very thin sulfur dioxide atmosphere exists.

No one really knows the temperature of the moons core but Instruments left on the moon by the Apollo Mission found out that the core is not very hot, but it is too hot for humans to survive.

The temperature of the moon varies greatly from night to day. During daytime, the moon reaches 253-degrees F, and drops to -233-degrees F at night.
