If you are replacing it from the donut gasket to the tail pipe, You'd be better off to take it to a muffler shoppe. There are specific bends in the pipes where they bend around the tranny. You should be looking in the 200-250 range, about 2 hrs of work, for OEM parts... Is it a V8? If so, splurge... go to a specialty shoppe and have stainless steel dual exhaust put on it... the performance and sound are well worth the money.

it depends on if your getting it done professionally or if your doing it yourself. also depends on what kind of system your getting and if your getting just new mufflers or if your getting a whole new exhaust. i bought a cherry bomb glasspack for my truck and installed it myself. only 30 bucks. what you can also do is go to a muffler shop and get a quote.
Use an exhaust made for an LT1 engine the blocks are identical it is the insides that is different. Will bolt right on.
It is possible to find a BMW exhaust system but since that it a little more expensive car that has custom part it will be more difficult to find. It will be hit or miss on whether you will be able to find one in the junk yard or not.
